Our cottage, which we affectionately call Littlebrick, was built by members of the Spets family. It was constructed almost entirely from salvaged material from Big Brick, the communal residence of the Swedish colonists who settled Bishop Hill. Big Brick was destroyed by fire in January 1928. By the end of that same year Littlebrick was completed. We acquired it in 2002.
In March 2006 we demolished our old garage and built a new two story “carriage house” with an upper-level studio as a place to receive clients and friends who wish to purchase my work. In addition to the egg ornaments and dried floral arrangements for which Windy Corner Farm is famous, I now feature a collection of vintage jewelry, amber glassware, and a line of carefully chosen collectable copper, brass, and aluminum giftware dating from the 50’s through the 90’s.
I assemble seasonal displays throughout the year, and encourage all interested guests to make an appointment to stop by to browse.
