| Since the dawn of man, the egg has been associated with creation. Because they contain new life and such potential, eggs were seen as a tool of divination. Their size, shape, and contents were used to forecast the future. Christians regard the egg as a symbol of the risen Christ. Beautifully decorated Easter eggs are a common tradition throughout Christendom. The Victorians, fond of ornamentation, decorated their eggs with snippets of daily life: trade cards, ribbons, beads, and bits of old lace. The eggs I create today are etched or carved in patterns reminiscent of fine Victorian lace, and so I call these delicate, dainty works of art Victorian Lace Eggs. |

I sketch my designs and use a high speed drill to hand carve the patterns shown above. To produce engraved eggs, I draw designs on shells with wax and then immerse the eggs in an etching solution. The result is a slightly raised design in the natural color of the eggshell which contrasts with the lighter etched background. Each egg I create is a wonder of nature, a rare and beautiful work of art. The eggs offered for sale above are large goose eggs. I accept special orders to carve and etch turkey, chicken, duck, peafowl, pheasant, partridge, and even quail eggs! Contact me to discuss your ideas and terms.

Magick Eggs are real blown chicken eggshells covered in a vivid marble pattern of brilliant hues. My secret process enables me to produce eggs that capture the eye and the imagination of all who behold them. Ancient folk believed faeries could foretell the fate of man by deciphering the patterns found covering wild woodland eggs.
